Time to "Sharpen the Saw"

We crank up the "tunes" for a fifteen minute
dance-a-thon. We imitate the moves of the dancers.  We love our dance time!

Using Technology

Spelling words are converted into QR codes.  Students use the QR Reader on the iPad to get their spelling word, which they then write down and double check against the posted list.

Students are using ABCya to practice their language arts and math skills.

We are Readers!

This group of friends are working on a play.  They each have their parts and are eager to work together to be able to share this play with their classmates.  This takes a special type of concentration.  If you zone out and loose your place, you will not know when it is your time to read.  Love these kids.

We love reading!  Everyone has their own collection of stories they can read with little or no help.  I am so proud of my kiddos and the progress they are making.

Mr. Archer's class joined us outside for a 10 frames activity.  We had to work together, or synergize to pair up our frames to equal 10.  We had an absolute blast finding our partners.

Sharing Our Published Work

We had a blast once we started sharing our stories.  We were really excited when Mrs. Powers figured out how to share to the big screen.  We can not wait to do it again.  We really love to share our stories.

It begins

School is just around the corner and there is still so much to do to prepare. Where did the summer go?  Oh yeah...my son's wedding in July and two weeks of concession stand at both the Jackson County and Calhoun County Fairs.  Yep... there went the summer.  I have been busy this past week with getting the classroom prepared for the "meet the teacher" night this next week.  Between three days of various professional development opportunities this week and working many hours (I refuse to count) in the classroom, things are starting to come together.  There is still work to be done in preparation but nonetheless, I am ready to take it on!
